For Facebook Marketing, 'Being Fresh' Is Key

In a , online promotion company Visibli analyzed more than 200 million Facebook Fansto determine engagement habits and found that just 80 minutes after a Facebook post has been published, it has already reached its half-life. Additionally, in a mere seven hours after it's been published, 80 percent of engagement with that post is complete.

Facebook Lessons for Marketers:

While we already understand the importance of fresh content for successful inbound marketing, there are definitely a few for marketers here...

1. Publish Daily: According to Visibli's data, it takes 22 hours for a Facebook post to generate 95% of its Likes. Therefore, it makes sense that marketers should strive to publish at least one post per day to keep their Facebook Page fresh and generating sufficient Fan engagement.

2. But Don't Over-Publish: Consider the shelf-life of a Facebook post. To generate the maximum engagement from each post, avoid publishing too frequently to give each post enough time to fulfill its engagement potential.

3. Recognize Varying Consumption Habits for Different Social Networks: Understand that content on different social networks has varying shelf lives. Consider the difference between content published on Facebook versus Twitter. It makes sense that would have a much shorter shelf-life given the differing nature of the two sites, which makes the case that marketers need to publish more often to Twitter than to Facebook. Don't generalize among social networks.

4. Notice Specific Consumption Habits of Your Audience: Similarly, the target audience of one Facebook Fan page might have completely different consumption habits and needs than the target audience of another Facebook Fan page. Stay tuned to your Facebook fans and how they react to your content, and feel free to run some tests. How do your posts perform when you publish once daily versus twice daily -- or more -- or less? Experiment with your post frequency, and adjust your plan based on your results!

One Third of the U.S. Online Ads Now Served by Facebook

According to comScore, 1.1 trillion ads were served to U.S. internet users in the first quarter of 2011. Of those 1.1 trillion ads, 346 billion of those (31%) were on Facebook. That's right -- you read that correctly. Facebook now serves nearly one third of all online advertisements in the U.S.

To help put this data into perspective, consider the representation of some of the other major online companies. Yahoo has a 10 percent share, Microsoft has 5 percent, and Google holds 2.5 percent. Basically, no other online company comes close to Facebook's market share.

Clicks, Not Impressions

Facebook's dominance makes it clear that an impression isn't the metric online advertisers need to be concerned with. Instead, online marketers need to focus on click-through rates (CTR) and ultimately, lead and sale conversions. The massive volume of impressions has caused CTRs to decline. In 2010, Facebook ad CTRs were at .05% on average, which is half of the industry average. Additionally, the cost-per-click (CPC) for Facebook ads rose from $.27 in 2009 to $.49 in 2010. With more advertisers adopting Facebook's advertising platform, it is likely that CPC will continue to rise.

ComScore's data demonstrates that Facebook's dominance in the online marketing industry is growing. However, marketers should infer that this dominance will make it even more difficult and expensive to generate results. The industry lives and dies on pre-construction sales. Until now, condominiums in Toronto have been marketed like cars or cigarettes, full of glitz and glamour.

Thanks to the power of social media, some of the control is being brought back into the publics hands. Meet the new generation of web-savvy marketers, entrepreneurs and real estate agents who are cutting through the hype and reshaping the way condominiums are sold in Toronto. They are working on giving the public more of a say in how condos are designed, developed and marketed, and helping average buyers access the premium pricing reserved for so-called VIPs months before anyone else can even look at a floor plan.

35-year-old Robert Galletta, the head of Blackjet (Ad Firm) is trying to redefine how real esate is sold in this city. They compile the most important news in lending, commercial real estate, residential real estate, real estate law, and much more. Every member of their staff has a strong real estate background and contributes a unique voice and perspective to the page, offering readers the ability to see every side of a story, which is so beneficial when learning about the industry. Web Real Estate Tools covers everything you need to know about real estate on the web. From simple posts on best blog practices to in depth reviews of the latest real estate site or application, Peter Toner and Drew Burks have got you covered. Their extensive knowledge of the real estate industry is visible in every post, while still speaking on a level everyone can understand, while encouraging reader engagement. How to make a great first impression in the Toronto condo market

Okay, we have done our research, gone to websites, talked to different Realtors, and established the right price. The critical part is now getting your home ready to sell. I cannot stress enough how important this phase of the process is so please pay particular attention.

Number one, most decisions to buy your home are made in less than three seconds. What I mean by that is that somebody is literally going to drive up in front of your home, look at your home from their car for approximately three seconds, and determine if they have fallen in love with your home or not.

At that point, after just three seconds, they are going to decide to continue driving or they are going to stop, write down the phone number, get the flyer and make inquiries. That first initial impression is absolutely critical. Nothing is more important.

So how do we do make a great first impression? The first thing is landscaping. Landscaping could be as simple as cutting your grass. It could be as simple as planting a few more flowers.

If you think about Disney there are always two things that are very memorable. The first thing is that there are always lots of flowers, lots of color. The second thing you notice about Disney, no matter where you are in the Disney Park, is that there is always music in the background.

You can literally create this resort type feel just by having lots of colors, lots of different plants, lots of flowers and having some outdoor music. These things are very inexpensive but really take your property to the next level. This completely differentiates you from everybody else not only in your neighborhood but anyone else selling.

These owners need to concentrate on remodeling their homes or at least making it look presentable.
